U.S. Travel: Historic or high-end, two ways to see Chicago

Doors to the rooms at the Kimpton Burnham hotel in Chicago are wood, with opaque glass above and the room number, like an old bank or a police station. You half expect Sgt. O’Leary from the 12th precinct to call you into his office.
