The Rhegency was formed in May 2000 in the city of Santo André in the São Paulo-Brazil by Fabio Fioravanti and Fabrício Oliveira. With a contradictory (but understandable) proposal to innovate the metal scene and at the same time keep the aggressive style, bases and heavy riffs and aggressive than abandon the melodic lines clearly showing influences ranging from the Prog-Thrash Metal. In December 2004 the band releases a demo "As long as you're here," that despite having a production compromised by problems receives great reviews from sites, zines and specialized magazines as Roadie Crew, Whiplash and Paradise Metal. For personal reasons the singer Wilson Barros to leave the band soon after recording the demo.
After a long period of standstill in search of a new vocalist is released to live DEMO "Through Time" (2007) that brings a new addition to the track title Rules of the song "Hidden" with new vocalist Fernando Ferreira and cover "Beyound Within " from Nevermore. This new DEMO was spread online, available on myspace and the official website of the band.In February 2009 as a preview of CD "Corruption Falls" is launched at the myspace song "Fallen Into the Corrupted World". Currently the band is in studio recording the long-awaited cd.
