PREDICATE NOT DEFINED - NORTH MALAYSIAN PROGRESSIVE METAL
From grunge, industrial metalcore, Predicate Not Defined's sound has since evolved into a mish-mash of progressive experimental metal, with big catchy technical riffs, memorable choruses and a complete disregard for regular genre conventions. Sometimes there's borderline metal going with screaming and punishing drums, in other places you'll get a quiet ballad wanting to lull you. One minute the band sounds like a extreme metal, the other it's morphed into an malay traditional tune in their composition. Blame it on the band's love for Pantera, System Of A Down, Nirvana, Kreator and Dream Theater who don't limit their sound to a specific style.

ANDALUSIA - AWESOME ROCK FROM NORTH BORNEO
Andalusia is a band that consist of 5 members. Lester on vocals, Laz on drums, Zizi ..boards, Romeo on guitars and Tnuz on bass. All of them are music student at a local university. Their passion for music is what brought them together. All of them have different musical influence and once Andalusia was formed, it brought different flavours into their music. Astro's HITz.TV Blastoff 3 competition (national competition) was a stepping stone for them in the music industry. They are currently recording their E.P album. So do check it out real soon~!..

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) there are around 1 million suicides every year - and for every suicide, there are approximately 20 attempted suicides. There are also many others who may not be suicidal, but urgently need access to appropriate emotional support services. It is not simply up to governments or others to decide who they may or may not 'be able to help' and what services are provided, but that everyone has a responsibility and accountability to ensure that relevant rights are respected for all groups at risk. Formulated by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, "Principles for the protection of persons with mental illness and the improvement of mental health care" were adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1991. They provide guidance for services and for countering discrimination.WHO stipulates that policies and services should include reducing the number of people who develop mental health problems and eliminating stigma associated with mental or emotional problems, and also provide effective interventions to all in need. Volunteer centers play a crucial role in all of these.
Befrienders listen to people who are lonely, despairing or considering suicide. They don't judge them, don't tell them what to do. They listen. That may not sound much - but it can make the difference between life and death.
People who feel suicidal are often so focused on a particular problem or pain that they find it difficult to see a way forward. Talking openly to a befriender, in a safe and confidential environment, can help.
By listening to a suicidal person, a befriender helps them to listen to themselves.

How can I volunteer?
You can find organisations in many countries, listed on the Home Page of this website. If there is no existing centre in your country, you might be interested in setting one up, or volunteering with local organisations like the Red Cross or Red Crescent.
Can they set up a centre in my country?
They do not themselves set up new services in different countries. If you are interested in setting up a new service there is advice on 'Setting up a helpline' in the General Information section of this website. If you do decide to do this, they can help with information and advice as you develop your ideas.
Do they fund projects?
They are a network of emotional support centres and unfortunately do not have a funding programme.
Are they a religious organisation?
No, they are not a religious organisation. They know that some people think we are a religious organisation due to the name, or confusing us with Samaritans Purse.

PAUL KAYEN: BEVERLY HILL'S BLUES HERO!!!
Paul Kayen was born in Huntington, NY and started playing guitar at age 12. His heroes and influences were Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. Paul began playing at bars in the New York area at age 15, and started doing session work in Manhattan by age 17 for major record companies such as Atlantic, CBS and RCA Records. By 1984, Paul was playing lead guitar in Aldo Nova’s group and featured with songwriting credits on TWITCH, Aldo Nova’s third album. While working with Aldo Nova, Paul simultaneously played guitar with Atlanta, Georgia’s Rhett Forester recording two ablums GONE WITH THE WIND and EVEN THE SCORE, with songwriting credits on those albums as well. Paul also produced one of the first RAP/ROCK crossover singles released on Atlantic records called RAINBOW BAR & GIRLS. In the early 90’s, Paul formed a band called Blackjack Bomber. After Blackjack Bomber, he left to play guitar with noted Harmonica player Frank Latorre and The King Bees. Paul now lives in Florida but continues to journey to New York to play at various venues with major musicians such as Rod Morgenstein, (drummer; Dixie Dregs, Winger, Jordan Rudess), and Richie Cannata, (saxophone; Billy Joel). Recently Paul opened for Johnny Winter which was an extraordinary and rewarding experience.
